“The human soul doesn’t want to be advised or fixed or saved. It simply wants to be witnessed — to be seen, heard, and companioned exactly as it is.”

— Parker J. Palmer

Hello! I'm Rooky (she/her) and I am an AMFT. I was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, and grew up in a strict religious Orthodox setting. I decided to leave that world behind and experience what it is like to step outside of my comfort zone to live a life that is my own, true to my values and beliefs. It is partly why I am dedicated to helping clients connect with their authentic voices, share their stories, and embrace self-acceptance.

I love working with...

Teens, adults, and elderly individuals who want to make meaningful changes in their lives but are unsure where to begin. Often my clients are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relational closeness, and wanting a more purposeful life. I also work with couples who are struggling with communication problems, conflict, or feelings of disconnection and strive for a deeper and more meaningful relationship with each other.

Some of my favorite approaches include...

Attachment-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), The Gottman Method, and Inter-Analytic Couples Therapy. I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each client, steering away from the notion of a one-size-fits-all solution.

How I help...

To begin, I'll create a warm and welcoming environment where you can openly discuss the challenges you're experiencing. Together, we'll uncover any barriers hindering your progress, draw upon your innate strengths and resources, and discover fresh insights into your identity. Ultimately, we'll work together to discover the steps that will bring your life goals and aspirations into wonderful alignment. I will be by your side, throughout both the pains of growth and the joys of blooming.

I believe...

Accepting and embracing ourselves as we are today becomes the catalyst for significant change in our lives. This self-acceptance acts as a key to discovering our inherent strengths and understanding how to leverage them for meaningful improvements.

What it's like in session with me

I value bringing authenticity, curiosity, empathy, and open-mindedness, and creating a warm and judgment-free environment. Together, we'll explore the influence of culture and other factors on your self-perception and identity. I see you as the expert on your own life, capable of creating meaningful changes given the right tools. Your feedback on the therapeutic process is always welcome, ensuring we're on the same page every step of the way.
