Developing an inner refuge where we feel loved and safe enables us to reduce the intensity of traumatic fear when it arises

- Tara Brach

I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a warm, collaborative approach to healing. With 20 years of experience as a yoga teacher, I weave somatic and mindfulness practices into the therapeutic space, honoring the deep connection between mind and body. I believe wholeheartedly in our capacity to heal — both physically and mentally — and work from a narrative framework that centers your story and strengths. My background spans addiction recovery and life transitions, and I have experience working with individuals navigating alternative lifestyles, including LGBTQ+ and polyamorous dynamics. I am a passionate advocate for community and spiritual practice, seeing these as essential anchors during times of big change. When I'm not in the therapy room, you can find me in nature, climbing, lifting weights, practicing yoga, or tending to my garden. I draw deep meaning from my community, my husband, and my dog, Ahwahnee.

I love working with...

I work with a diverse range of clients, from teenagers to adults, as well as couples. My areas of focus include grief and loss, addiction and recovery, and life transitions. I have a deep commitment to serving the LGBTQ+ community and individuals in alternative relationship structures, including polyamorous dynamics. I strive to create a space that is affirming, non-judgmental, and inclusive — where all identities, relationships, and lived experiences are welcomed and honored.

Some of my favorite approaches include...

My approach is rooted in narrative therapy, somatic modalities, and mindfulness — creating space for you to reconnect with your body, reauthor your story, and tap into your innate capacity for healing. I hold deep respect for the role that culture, identity, and intersectionality play in shaping our lives, and I welcome spirituality as a meaningful part of that journey. The therapeutic relationship is a true collaboration — grounded in trust, curiosity, and care. My goal is to support you in building a deeper connection with yourself and stepping into a life that feels authentic and whole.

How I help...

Clients often describe me as warm, friendly, and easy to talk to — I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation, not a clinical transaction. I show up with honesty and directness, and I'm not afraid to bring a little humor into the room when it fits. For clients who are drawn to meditation and breathwork, I weave those practices naturally into our sessions alongside somatic and body-based work. My style is grounded but flexible — I meet you where you are and tailor my approach to what you need. Above all, I want you to feel safe, seen, and genuinely supported from the moment you walk in.

I believe...

...that healing rarely happens in isolation — community, connection, and belonging are foundational to our wellbeing. And at the heart of it all is the relationship we have with ourselves. When we are rooted in a deep sense of self and held by community, we become capable of navigating even the hardest seasons of life with resilience and grace.

What it's like in session with me

Sessions are client-led — you bring what feels most present, and we follow your lead. For those who are interested, we have the option to open or close our time together with a guided meditation or breathwork practice to help you arrive and leave feeling grounded. However we work together, my goal is for you to feel heard, resourced, and more connected to yourself.
